Talking a Good Game in CD4: Closing Arguments…

(Annie Black) – This is it!  The 2022 primary election is finally upon us.

And as Ronald Reagan said in his famous “Time for Choosing” speech way back in 1964…

“This is the issue of this election: Whether we believe in our capacity for self-government or whether we abandon the American revolution and confess that a little intellectual elite in a far-distant capitol can plan our lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves.”

President Joe Biden, Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak and Nevada Congressional District 4 Rep. Steven Horsford – all Democrats – believe they know better how to run your life than you do.

They’re wrong.  Again, quoting The Gipper…

“The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.”

I’m running for Congress, not just to oust Steven Horsford, but to oust Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats from power in DC so they can no longer…

  • Shut our businesses down
  • Close our schools and churches
  • Mask & Vax us against our will
  • Indoctrinate our kids
  • Censor and “cancel” us

I’m running to end “Bidenflation,” cut non-essential spending, lower gas prices, restock shelves with baby formula, fix the supply chain, secure our border and protect our elections.

In short, I want to go to Congress to end the Biden-Sisolak-Horsford “Raw Deal” they’ve dealt us and return our country to the peace and prosperity we all enjoyed thanks to President Trump’s “America First” agenda.

But first…I have to win the Republican primary on Tuesday.  And the race is CLOSE.

One of my GOP opponents, Sam Peters, has his knickers in a knot over me pointing out that he’s never won an election and has never served in office.

As such, he’s been flailing away with attack ads claiming I’m a “career politician.”  Sorry, but that dog won’t hunt.

Joe Biden’s a career politician.  He’s been in politics since 1972.  Steve Sisolak is a career politician.  He’s been in politics since 1996.  Steven Horsford is a career politician.  He’s been in politics since 2004.

The fact is, I was elected to the Mesquite City Council in 2018 and to the Nevada Assembly in 2020.  I’m just a “babe in the woods” compared to actual “career politicians.”

And believe this…

If I wanted to be a “career politician” I would have run for re-election to my “safe” seat in the Nevada Legislature rather than risk an uphill challenge to an entrenched Democrat in a Democrat-majority congressional district.

But I’m doing it because we have a country to save!

I make no apologies for wanting to represent you and your family – and for actually winning races. And that’s really what this all comes down to…

Sam talks a good game.  But someone who couldn’t even win his primary race in 2020 is simply not the strongest candidate to go up against Horsford and the remnants of the “Harry Reid Machine” in November.

I am.

Sam talks a good game.  He says all the right things.  Tells people what they want to hear … just like a career politician (Sorry, Sam; couldn’t resist).

But I have an actual record – including earning the #1 conservative rating (99.22%) last year from the Nevada Policy Research Institute.

Sam talks a good game.  During the Sisolak Shutdown he attended protests and rallies. But I ORGANIZED them.  Sam even attended the two I led in Mesquite.

Sam talks a good game.  Says he opposed Sisolak’s abuse of emergency powers.  But I actually introduced the bill in the Legislature to terminate his “Declaration of Emergency.”

And I’ll fight Joe Biden for you just as hard!

Sam talks a good game.  While he complains about mask and vaccine mandates, I defied Democrats in the Legislature and was kicked off the Assembly floor for refusing to comply.

Talk is cheap.

The fact is I was in the arena, as the legendary singer Johnny Cash put it, “kickin’ and a’ gougin’ in the mud and the blood and the beer.”

Sam was a fan in the stands, heckling the players from the peanut gallery.  In fact, I think he has season tickets!

Let me close with this…

I firmly believe I’m the best Republican candidate who can beat Horsford in November.

But it doesn’t matter what *I* believe.  It only matters what *YOU* believe.

And if a majority you believe Sam is the better candidate for the general election and nominate him as our standard-bearer on June 14, I’ll be all-in for him.

Because here’s the bottom line: Horsford’s Gotta Go!
