(Annie Black) – I know some people don’t like it when I point this out, but the sad fact is that just having an “R” after your name doesn’t make you a good conservative – or even a good Republican.
Remember back in 2010 when a group of “Republicans” helped re-elect Democrat Nevada U.S. Sen. Harry Reid over Republican Sharron Angle by forming “Republicans for Reid” and campaigning for him.
How’d that work out for Republicans? How’d that work out for Nevadans? How’d that work out for our country?
And how’s this Joe Biden presidency working out for you?
Well, Steven Moore of the Committee to Unleash Prosperity reminded folks in his newsletter this week of some of the Biden-supporting “Republicans” who helped install “Brandon” in our White House, including the following…
- “I’m sure there are Republicans and independents who couldn’t imagine crossing over to support a Democrat. They fear Joe (Biden) may turn sharp left and leave them behind. I don’t believe that because I know the measure of the man.” – John Kasich
- “We need…someone who can restore competence to the Oval Office and unify the country. Joe Biden is that leader.” – Christie Todd Whitman
- “Joe Biden … has a plan that will strengthen our economy for working people and small-business owners. For me, the choice is simple. I’m with Joe.” – Meg Whitman
- “We need to elect someone … who will stop the chaos and reverse the damage.” – Former Senator Jeff Flake
“Restore competence in the Oval Office”?
“Strengthen our economy”?
“Reverse the damage”?
We’ve got the highest rate of inflation in 40 years. We’ve got the highest gas prices EVER…and still climbing. We’re on the brink of war with a nuclear super power. We have a wide-open southern border with record numbers of illegal aliens entering our country.
And mothers can’t even buy baby formula for their kids!
With “Republicans” such as Kasich, Whitman, Whitman and Flake…who needs enemies?!!
And then there’s “Republican” Rep. Liz Cheney and “Republican” Rep. Adam Kinzinger who voted to impeach President Trump AFTER he left office and are now serving side-by-side with Democrats on Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 witch hunt committee.
Returning back home to Nevada…
Remember how “Republican” Brian Sandoval campaigned as being more conservative than former Republican Gov. Jim Gibbons – only to shove the largest tax hike in state history down our throats in 2015?
And remember how former “Republican” State Senate Majority Leader Michael Roberson signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge – on Tax Day! – at a Tea Party rally! – only to get elected and push through Sandoval’s tax hike in the Legislature?
I know it’s hard for some to accept, but there ARE bad Republicans. And it’s important to call them out – and vote them out! – because as mom taught us…even one bad apple can spoil the entire barrel.
Now, to be clear, I’m not saying my two Republican opponents in the upcoming primary for Nevada’s 4th Congressional District are bad apples. I’m saying we just don’t know.
They’ve never served in office. They’ve never been tested in office.
All of the “Republicans” mentioned above said all the right things on the campaign trail. Everyone thought they were good Republicans. Until they got into office, fell in with a bad crowd and crossed over to the Dark Side.
Sadly, it can happen. Sadly, it has happened. And sadly, it’ll happen again.
My argument to you is that, unlike my opponents, I campaigned as a conservative Republican when I ran for office AND I served as a conservative Republican after being elected.
With me, you know what you’re getting. With either of my two opponents, it’s like opening a box of Cracker Jacks. You just never know what prize you’re going to find inside – and sometimes it’s a Booby prize.
Black…out.
QUOTES OF THE DAY
“You need to elect people that aren’t just going to tell you what you want to hear. Because every single person that runs as a Republican in these primaries, they all say the same thing. And yet so many of these Republicans, when they get into office, they don’t do anything. … (T)hey don’t want to have the fight. They are worried about the media and corporate pressure. There is an appetite for people who will stand and fight. In times like these, there is no substitute for courage.” – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis
“Most all Republican candidates will promise that they are a true red-blooded conservative. However, the truth is most will cave when pressured by Republican leaders to vote to expand government. This is both true at the national and state level.” – Veteran conservative strategist Richard Viguerie
